Happy Birthday Natalia Tena

Today, November 1st, is Natalia Tena's 27th birthday!

Writer's Block: Kiss me, I’m Irish!

How are you celebrating St. Patrick’s Day?

Well Not by getting Smashed drunk, that's for sure.

I take the opportunity to stay at home and cook delicious even if not irish- food.

like Soda Bread.

or these, which I discovered the recipe today- potato shaped candy:

listening to celtic or Folklore music. and watching Movies about ireland/the irish.

such as Luck of the Irish, WaterHorse, Secret of Kells, Secret of Roah Inish, etc

if I had planned better, I would have gone dancing- there's a really good Celtic music festival around this time of year.

Sometimes going to Mass service, but that's rare, since the St. Patrick's Day service is usually not very good.

So yeah, I like celebrating St. Patrick's in a way that feels meaningful, and I wont regret in the morning by having a splinting headache and puking my guts out.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!! *recipes post*

decided to dig around for some delicious recipes to cook in honor of St. Patrick's day.

This are Dessert recipes.

Grandma McAndrews' Irish Soda Bread:

Prep Time:15 Min
Cook Time:30 Min
Ready In:45 Min

4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet, or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, buttermilk, and corn oil. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, and pour in the buttermilk mixture. Add the raisins, and stir a few times, just until the ingredients come together into a soft dough. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, and with floured hands shape dough into a ball. Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet, and cut a large cross in the top with a sharp knife.
Place the bread on a middle rack of the preheated oven, and bake until golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes.
